Member-contributed list of names, locations, and topics of interest

This list will be checked in each instance when an article is being considered for inclusion in the archives. A name listed here will guarantee that the article containing that particular name will be transcribed in its entirety. Mik is working on an automatic notification system that will alert the site member that new articles have appeared containing their particular names of interest.

Very shortly 3,000 new articles from 1875 will be available - from March until June 28, 1875. Sorry for the delay, and enjoy the new stuff!

We’re back online!
The articles are back up and online. You can view the last 25 posted here:

http://www.publicati...iveArticle.cfm?g=184

You can also search by date, publication and subject.

Look for more features coming online in 2008, including a complete face-lift, more multimedia, and comments on individual articles.

We will also be looking for help from individuals with time on their hands to type in articles from their publication of choice.

Coming back soon!
This past weekend all the articles were finally re-imported into the website’s database. Now all we have to do is upgrade the display programming and voila! 28,000 articles suddenly re-appear online.

It’s been a year -- a whole year -- since the archive was online, and for that I am truly sorry. But we’ll be back soon. Target date is November 1st.
